Great Old Ones occur once a SUTEKHer has achieved one of the following:
AND has gained the appropriate number of AP. This number is shrouded in the mists of alcoholism. It's probably level 20, though.
Great Old Ones may eventually become Dinosaurs.
Not to be confused with Mediocre Old Ones or Really Crap Old Ones.
Great Old Ones may take n00btenants, although generally it's best to only take one or two per year, so that they can take proper care of their charges. This is usually due to a common interest, and usually enriches both parties.
Although some of the customs of Great Old Ones may seem strange to new people, please treat them with respect. They will happily help new Sutekhers adjust to life at university, and also probably help you with your uni work, invite you to all the cool parties, and generally be pretty awesome. Don't sass them.
Sometimes you might have a problem with a Great Old One. Maybe you don't like their style, maybe they don't like yours, maybe they insinuated that your mother sucks cocks in hell, who knows? If a Great Old One is acting like a jerk to you at official Sutekh events, or on the forums, speak to a Committee member or our New Member Officer and they'll sort out the problem. If you just don't seem to get on with them, but they're not being a total jerk at the official Sutekh stuff, then sorry, there's not much we can do about that because not everyone in Sutekh has to be friends. With such a huge group of people, there are bound to be personality clashes. Don't worry about it, there's so many Sutekhers that you'll find friends, somewhere.
